Better Than Ever

Remember this? My pathetic, whiney, good-for-nothing sorrow over the loss of Peter Furler from the Newsboys? Well, my friends, he's back with a new solo album. And this is exactly why I adore him so much.

Who else, besides Toby Mac, can get one mom, one dad, and four kids to dance around the house until they're breathless with laughter, all while praising God?! Oh yes, lest you think I'm joking, Ben and I dance with just as much zeal as the kiddos. And if you look closely, you may catch me with a few tears of overwhelming joy. My God is just too, too much.

Deja Vu

He reminds me oddly of his sister as a baby when he plays out this dramatic scene. The only difference is she had a girl's attention span and could perform for much longer. Seth, on the other hand, has all the focus of... "SQUIRREL!" ...a boy.

The Deciding Factor

I'm one of those chronic "I-can't-make-a-decision-if-my-life-depends-on-it" kind of people. My children are obviously suffering the consequences.

Reason #527 Why Every Child Needs A Sibling

...hours of entertainment that poor mom just cannot provide, no matter how hard she tries...

Lessons from Laundry Day

What did the kids learn? It's good to listen to Mommy's instructions. There's value in helping each other. It can be so much fun to do chores!

What did Mommy learn? Next time I'll be laying on the couch with a book for ten uninterrupted minutes of me-time instead of holding the camera. What was I thinking?!

Monkey Games

Monkey climbs. Monkey falls. Monkey likes. Monkey practices laboriously. Monkey #2 sees. Monkey #2 imitates. 'Round and round they go...

No Swiping!

Sophie L-O-V-E-S Dora. Her enamored state has led to frequent role-playing, during which Will is rather unwillingly cast as "Swiper the Fox," who is the villain of sorts. If Will has a toy Sophie wants she tells him, "Swiper, no swiping!" The first video is Will trying to mimic the phrases used in Dora. If you've never seen Dora, the second video is a short clip of Dora and Swiper.

Sometimes God Gives Un-"Expected" Blessings...

...and you're so grateful He knows better than you.

I'm Open, I'm Closed

I couldn't help but chuckle at her 2-year-old interpretation of these opposites.

(Isn't it cute how amused Will is by his sister?)

Ringing In 2010

This took place four hours early, of course, right on schedule for little bed times.

Happy New Year, 2010!!

Better Than My Birthday

This is what greeted me yesterday morning when I opened Sophie's door. It was not my birthday. It could've been, though, for how much I loved my early morning "gift."

I Think All the Letters are There Somewhere...

I guess I've asked her to perform this a little too much lately. She's taken to singing it when I say no to something she wants. How quickly they learn.

Sophie Rediscovers an Old Friend

This was Sophie's when she was a baby. Now it's Will's... and Sophie's. Check out the video. I'm pretty sure she didn't always sing with it like she does now.

Everyone Should Get M&Ms When They Potty

Translations:

"E-na lolly" = Elmo Potty

"Di-ee baa-bee" = Silly Baby

"ya-ya" = lion

"Bye-bye lolly" = Bye-bye potty

And of course, there is frequent use of M&M - it's obvious what motivates this child!
