Whatcha Hidin' Under There?!

Those of you who see me frequently may be surprised to learn that I have quite the burgeoning belly hiding under the baggy clothes I've been modeling lately. After reading a post from my prego friend Michelle, I realized it was high time I posted some pictures.

The reason I haven't done this yet is plain and simple: I am only 14 weeks along and I have to admit I'm a little bashful over the fact that I already require maternity pants. This is why I haven't joyously pulled out the empire-waste tops but have instead clung to my old college t-shirts (and subsequently why I look like a bum pretty much everywhere I go).

When deciding to take pictures tonight, I thought two things. First, "I'll wear the same shirt I wore in my first pregnancy pictures last time!" My second thought was, "I think I was 14 weeks along then, too, although my stomach was quite a bit smaller."

I was correct on two counts. Yes, it was the same shirt. Yes, my stomach was quite a bit smaller. However, I was actually 17 weeks along. Sheesh!

You can compare for yourself.
The first pic is me today, at 14 weeks... yikes! The second one is me 1.5 years ago at 17 weeks (there was hardly anything there!!).

Another comparison. First picture: me, today at 14 weeks. Second picture, me all those months ago, at 21 WEEKS!! Hold the presses - it almost looks like the same stomach!

All bellies aside, I have to say thanks to God my Father. I am so full of praise that I am getting to experience this a second time around.

Even if you're bigger this time (and it IS your 2nd), you look so cute. What a cute prego belly!! I want to see it in person!

You are experiencing EXACTLY what I am. Ryan said last night, "WOW, your belly really looks pregnant, already!!!" It is very different from last go round! I haven't even taken picture this time. I better get on it or I'm gonna miss the "little belly" phase... :) Can't wait to see you guys when we come home in Sept!

How cute is that! I can't believe you're that organized to find the SAME shirt and compare the same weeks WOW! You're my idol *hehe*! You look adorable!

My second pregnancy was similar. I was bigger sooner than the first time. But the good news is that I gained 2lbs less with #2 than with #1!
And I don't know about all these people saying twins would be fun! Do they have one kid? Seriously one baby can absolutely wear you out. I can't imagine having twins. Once they get potty trained I think twins would be fine, but I'd be in a fog until then.

I don't know if this is an annoying comment or helpful, :) but if it helps, I started wearing maternity pants at 6 weeks and 8 weeks respectively! The only reason it was LATER the second time was because I had post-baby pants from the first go-round that I squeezed into until then. I got HUGE very fast! :) At least you can rest assured that your body knows what it's doing this time and it's doing it with gusto! :) :) :)

You look great though! I hear most will show earlier with their 2nd and 3rd pregnancies. So, I am sure that is normal. See you in a few weekends at church!

You look adorable pregnant!!! I think your belly is great and at least this time you're skipping those many weeks that you kinda look pergnant, but kinda don't. I'm not quite there yet with my belly, but I'm guessing in the next month I'll have to break out some maternity pants myself. Good times!
