Absolutely Perfect

"Are my ears broken?"

Is my 2-year-old really asking me this?! Give me wisdom, Lord.

"No, sweet girl. They're not broken. They're perfect. God made your ears perfect!"

What a heartbreaking question. But at the same time what a beautiful, faith-filled response.

Sophie and Will are so blessed to have you and Ben for parents! My heart breaks and at the same time is filled with joy at how Ben and you are raising your babies! I love you all!

Oh Kelly they are so cute! We had a similar experience with Kaity. Before her last eye surgery she looked in the mirror and asked, "I want the dr to make my eyes blue." When we asked her why she said that her brown eyes were scary! It kind of made me sad to think that she thought her beautiful eyes were scary! You are doing a wonderful job with both little ones. They will grow up to be confident in the love the Lord has for them.

You guys are a doing such a great job of raising your children. They are surely seeing your faith and trust in the Lord. And your wise, faith-filled answer is exactly right. God did make her ears perfect.
Love you guys!

I get sooo very many children asking about my boys hearing aids... here's my explanation. If everyone were the same what a boring life it would be. And people wear glasses to help their eyes, braces and dentures to help their teeth, and so on. It seems to help a lot here, I feel that for every question I answer for those children around Landen and the more kids in the neighborhood that are exposed to who he is, the more accepting and easier his life will be when he becomes school age. We call his hearing aids his "buddies" because they go everywhere with him!
