30 Weeks and Counting

I'm not quite convinced that I want to post this, but here is Baby #3 in all his 30-weeks-and-really-huge glory (for those of you unfamiliar with pregnancy lingo, that means I still have TEN WEEKS until I reach my due date):

This looks pretty close to the 38-week pictures of Sophie, although I still did look a little bigger in those pictures, thank goodness.

The latest baby news: I had a second sonogram last week (recheck of a low-lying placenta). Everything looked good, placenta issue was resolved, but little baby boy is BIG. Now was that really ever a question when you consider a) the current size of this belly, and b) the size of the last baby boy I delivered (9 lbs 11 oz, for those of you who forgot)? The tech who performed the sonogram was quite amused at how big he was. The sono was guestimating that he's about 2 weeks bigger than average, and somewhere in the 92nd to 94th %ile.

At this point my doctor is wanting to induce about a week early because of his size, which would mean either Aug 20 or 23. It really won't be that long now, which is kinda scary. I have no idea how I'm supposed to manage a 3-yr-old, 18-month-old, and newborn. I'm definitely more nervous about this little guy than I was about my other pregnancies. Funny that it would come with my third - you'd think it was old hat by now!

And just in case you're wondering, the questions and comments about my size are in full bloom. Many people wondering if it's going to be any day. Lots of exclamations such as "Oh my goodness you're huge!" Definitely not kidding. Ben is very sweet to manage an extremely sympathetic look that says "I know you hate these people but lets just pretend what they said is okay,"... deep inside I think he wants to make the same comments. Believe me, I am fully aware what an immense blessing it is to have a husband who holds his tongue at times such as this!!

Kelly--you look great! Don't let those people get you down (you know I'm speaking to myself, as well). Yeah, maybe you got a big 'ol baby in there, but at least he's not teeny tiny and they're concerned about him or something. Hang in there, my friend.

You are a seriously cute prego! I can't believe that you're getting such rude comments. Enjoy that belly, because soon enough it will be gone and you'll miss feeling that baby boy in there!

Kelly! I think I've told you with both of your previous pregnancies, but I'll tell you again-you are normally beautiful, but even more so when you are pregnant! Call it the glow or whatever, I just think pregnancy looks wonderful on you. I wouldn't tell you that if it weren't the absolute truth.

And your belly and your baby are the perfect size because HE is both of your makers! I know there have been times that I've made comments about big bellies on pregnant women thinking that there is no way that they could take it bad. I mean how could they even feel bad about looking so great. All while underestimating the power of hormones! Maybe the people making the comments feel the same about you because girl, you look great!

Kelly, you look absolutely fantastic! From a mommy of two 9.5 lb babies myself, I totally know where you are coming from on the unwanted comments. God bless you and your little ones - you & Ben will be just as awesome with three.

I think you are ADORABLE!! I wish I looked half as good as you do when I'm pregnant.

I am excited to meet my new nephew! It won't be long now.

You are beautiful...and YOU are not huge! Your baby belly is too, too cute. Love it. Oh how I wish I could hang out with you for awhile! I miss you!

Ok, Kelly, IT IS ON! Will may have been 9 lbs 11 oz, but my Isaac was 9 lbs 13 oz. So let's just see who can have a bigger baby! Ok actually that would probably be a conversation our husbands would have!
But really you do look great. And I was planning to post a picture of my 36 week self on facebook tomorrow, so I'm sure that will make you feel better. :)
And also I'm sure you will be able to handle 3 kids even at their young age. I'm sure it won't be easy, but just take it one day at a time. You guys already have a track record for raising your children well and in the Lord. I'm sure it will continue.

Tell people you are hoping to carry this baby to 50 weeks or something to get in the guiness book of world records. Justin is always looking for a way to get in that book.

One nice thing about your kids being so close together is that they will be around the same size to ride rollercoasters and other rides. So no one will feel left out.

You look lovely! You don't look HUGE, you look healthy and pregnant carrying a very well loved #3. I'm glad your pregnancy is going well and hopefully he doesn't decide to get TOO big :)

Oh, and by the way, at least it's all in our bellies! It could be worse!!! :) We could be blown up like balloons or something, though I will knock on wood so that we're not jinxed. Summer has only just begun! :)

Sweet Kelly, I got the same comments when I was expecting your brother. They were saying in May that I wouldn't make it to June, and he was born July 5! (At least your doctor is planning on an early delivery!) You look great, and I love what Abbie and Amy wrote.
