Ever Feel Like You're Just Blowing Hot Air?

I have this recurring nightmare that I sound exactly like Charlie Brown's teacher.

Will: What'd you say, Mommy? I can't really hear you because I'm too focused on trying to figure out what those cool blue things are on the floor!

Me: Oh, thanks for the clarification, son. That's why you can't hear me.

I feel your pain. I think that is all my kids hear from me now. I even say the wah, wah, wah, wah, wah part to see if they are listening.

How funny--so he's figured it out, huh? One of our audiology friends has a daughter with hearing aids and said, "Mommy, can you hear me?" Our friend said, "Yes, I can hear you...can you hear me...?" The daughter said, "Nope. 'Cause I turned my hearing aids off!" She was maybe three at the time. Very funny! Just wait!
