Glamorous Pregnancy

Who was it that said you glow when you're pregnant? I don't believe that person was thinking clearly about the constant, all day nausea (morning sickness?... yeah, right) or the acne that would pop up all over my face, shoulders and back. Gross. It's like my pubescent self from high school has come back to haunt me; a sort-of "kick her while she's down" scenario.

Granted, I've been through this once before, so I knew what I was getting myself into. But somehow I forgot about those things in the midst of this:

toddler-waddling on fabulous, squishy legs;
giggles that seep into the core of your heart and melt it into a big puddle;
huge blue eyes that look up at you while holding a book and begging to be pulled tight into your arms and lap;
a tiny one running to me, finding comfort in me and holding onto my leg so I don't leave her;
little hands and lips that try so hard to do everything just like Momma...

It's no wonder I yearned for another. Just as our Father longs for each of us. One just isn't enough - He wants us all.

"The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." 2 Pet 3:9

Alright pregnant lady....that was good and emotional! Holy cow. I have to tell you, when we left church yesterday, Jeff says, Sophie is really adorable. Such a cute face!!! Ahhhh. It's one thing when a girl says how cute she is, but a guy....she must really be cute!!

I am so excited for you guys! I mean, I've been a mother for 9 days now and I've already forgotten about most of the yucky pregnancy stuff. It's amazing how much joy these little people can bring.

Amen, sistah! :) You have such good perspective- and yes, no wonder we want more of these "fabulously squishy-legged" little ones! I send love and prayers your way... hang in there.
