My sweet boy is nine months old as of Thanksgiving Day. Really? He's going to be ONE in just three short months?
Blogger poll: Is it okay to doctor pictures before using them, or is it dishonest? In the case of the below pictures, I just altered the hue and saturation of Will's eyes, basically using the color already present to enhance the blue in his eyes (I never added any coloring). Professional photographers do this stuff all the time, right? An enhancement here, shave off a curve there.
I am curious what Blogger world thinks - if Christ calls us to live in truth, does posting a doctored picture blur the lines between truth and deception?

IMHO, it all depends on your intentions. Especially if you're bringing in the Christian perspective. If you're doing it to intentionally deceive people, particularly for personal gain, that's not good. If you are making something more artful in an attempt to be creative, or to protect someone else's interests, that's probably just fine. Example: I took a picture of myself, Sam, and one of Sam's sisters, and I really wanted to post that picture on the blog, but my sis-in-law was having a "bad complexion day," so I photoshopped her skin a little bit so she wouldn't be totally embarrased to have that on the web. So, since I was doctoring the photo out of love and concern for others, I'm sure God was just fine with it.
I think it is sinful and shameful. And I'm telling God.
Eeek, I don't know. I'm not sure there is any difference in what you did and someone wearing colored contact lenses. You know what I mean? You "doctored" the photo like we "doctor" ourselves all the time with cosmetics, hair dye, clothing, etc. I think that its okay...but that is just my opinion. :)

What an interesting thought. I honestly think that there is nothing wrong with it, but never really looked at it the way you presented it. I will have to think on that one some more.

Oh my! I can't believe all the comments you've gotten! I'm laughing out loud right now! Darling if you want to "doctor" your pictures GO CRAZY! Photography is ART. Art can be that beautiful shot of the sunset at just the right time, capturing a moment of glee from the face of a toddler, or making a dull lifeless picture come alive! We don't all have expensive cameras with a huge flash like the pros, so we use what we do have; a good photoshop program. :-) HeeHee! You asked for an opinion... And by the way, I appreciate you letting the rest of us see the gorgeous eyes you see every day!
