This weekend we went with our new church, Northside Church of Christ, to their yearly Family Camp. It was held at Rock Springs, a 700 acre 4-H camping site near Junction City, KS. We had a wonderful time, and it was the perfect opportunity to get to know some of our new church family.
Sophie did great, but by the end of the day yesterday, she was POOPED and really just couldn't take anymore. Overall she was so much fun, and flashed her silly little grin at every person she met the entire weekend (but she had lots of extra grins for David Herrington...).
The first night we woke up in the middle of the night FREEZING, and I'd put poor Soph to bed in her summer wear. So, I got her icy little body out of the pack-n-play and put her in my sleeping bag. Before I could crawl in myself, she was knocked out, and she slept hard until we had to wake her up to go eat breakfast. Here we are cuddling that morning:
Everyone at camp had matching shirts, and we all wore them on Saturday. The smallest they had in kids' sizes was an XS, no baby sizes, so Sophie's drowned her. But it was cute, and she looked like SUCH a big girl in it. Here she is with her Daddy. And I have to add, that she became QUITE the Daddy's girl over the weekend. She's always loved him, of course, but this was the first time that I've tried to take her from him only to have her throw a royal fit! I couldn't believe it!
Here's our whole fam in our matching shirts:
We took Soph over to see the horses, which she LOVED, of course. She kept saying, "Nay, nay, nay!" I love her cute, fat little finger pointing at the horses. And then she helped Momma feed the horse grass (I don't think she was too sure about that one).
And this was on Sunday morning during our camp worship service. The poor thing was just TUCKERED.

Glad you had so much fun! I miss those days of family camp and would love to go again sometime! I just miss Northside in general :(
The thought of family camp brings back many memories... wasn't being a teenager ridiculous?!
Love the photos!
Cute photos!! Thanks for sharing. The one of you and her cuddling is so cute, and the one of her on Ben's shoulders.
Don't you just love/envy the way babies can just CRASH like that?
Such cute pictures!!
Cute pictures! It looks like everyone had a great time.
The Family Camp sounds awesome! A far cry from our small, rustic, beloved Ivydale!
Are you guys enjoying your new home and church?
Meshellyn and I have planned for THREE YEARS now to go. Two years ago, Cassie was born right before. Last year Em was born right before. This year, I'm a big, fat cow of preggo-ness waiting for Conrey to be born. Not that I couldn't have come last year and Meshellyn couldn't have come the others, but it was kind of a "safety in numbers" kind of thing. :) :) :) Just teasing. Anyway, here's to hoping for next year!!!!!
